World Extreme Medicine 2017

It’s that time again! We are hugely looking forward to World Extreme Medicine in Adventure Medic’s home city of Edinburgh again this year.

The line-up looks amazing, from cyclist Mark Beaumont to conference regular (and all-round hero) NASA Astronaut Mike Barrett. We also fancy some of the hands-on workshops, including winter skills with polar guide Zac Poulton and the medical management of complex terrorist attacks (with Police Tactical Firearms teams providing some real-time training scenarios!). For all you student adventure-scientists out there, we’d urge you to go listen to Edinburgh student Jason Young from APEX5. Jason and co. ran a mammoth research expedition to Bolivia in July, overcoming seemingly impassable roadblocks (literally) and picking up many useful lessons along the way.

As ever, please come and chat to us on the Adventure Medic stand. Share the stories of your adventures and tell us what you like (or hate) about Adventure Medic. We love to meet you all, and it’s the people that make attending WEM the highlight of our conference calendar.

WEM will be held from 25-27 November at Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh, in the shadow of the mighty Arthur’s Seat. Book tickets here.
