The first is an infographic on your chances of dying doing a particular extreme sport. The second, a well-written article from Howie Chong on why you should cycle without a helmet or &#8211; from our understanding of the post &#8211; why perhaps you should instead walk or drive with one. The quantification of risk is a key part of being an expedition medic, but we here at Adventure Medic HQ are rather dubious about such big generalisations &#8211; after all, there is a bit of a difference between pukka whitewater kayaking and a day out at your local outward bound centre. Still, we&#8217;d be interested to hear all your thoughts on the Facebook page or on the Forum. You might also want to check out our own article on Risk Management for Adventure.
