Prescription-only medicines can be vexing for expedition medics: where to get them? How to travel with them? What if the group has no accompanying doctor? To help clarify the often opaque positions we can find ourselves in Moore et al. from the Royal Geographical Society Medical Advisory Committee (RGS-MAC) have just published some helpful guidance in Wilderness & Environmental Medicine. There is still work to be done, but this is a great start. Though aimed at those coming from the UK, it is worth a read for medics worldwide:
