Good news in the campaign to prevent ketamine becoming a Schedule 1 drug.
China – the country who proposed changing the law on ketamine – has now deferred voting on the issue, so ketamine remains available without further restrictions. Chief Medical Officer Professor Dame Sally Davies has also confirmed in letters to the BMA and the AAGBI that the UK would not support scheduling, and would influence international partners to take a similar stance.
