Adventure Medic is one of the most popular wilderness medicine publications on the web. Here is how you can advertise your event, course, job, voluntary opportunity or organisation with us, along with the answers to some frequently asked questions.
Who reads Adventure Medic?
Our readers tend to be practising doctors from English-speaking countries, typically the United Kingdom, North America and Australasia. We also encourage participation from medical students, nurses and other allied health professionals. We have a presence at most major wilderness medicine events, including the World Extreme Medicine Expo and Student Wilderness Medicine(UK) and are active on social media.
Where can I advertise and how much does it cost?
There are three main areas of the site for advertising:
Jobs & Volunteering Page / This is the most popular page on the site and includes listings of up to 100 words, linked to an external site if required. Opportunities are broken down into jobs with salaries and expenses paid, jobs with expenses paid only and other posts. Posts can be kept up on the page until the end of the job or for up to 12 months (whichever comes first). Please note we do not provide metrics for individual listings. Indicative rates for 2022 are 100 GBP per post, payable via UK bank transfer or internationally via PayPal invoicing.
Sidebar / There are three spaces on our sidebar for paid advertising (1, 2 and 3) below. The sidebar appears on every page of the site, so the banners will achieve the maximum number of impressions. Adventure Medic is designed to be device-responsive, so the positions of the banners change between the desktop, tablet and mobile configurations of the site.
Indicative rates for 2022 are 250 GBP/month, though this may be negotiable depending on the nature of your organisation or event, payable via UK bank transfer or internationally via PayPal invoicing. The banners can be linked to external sites and we are able to provide some metrics on request. There is usually competition for advertising space on the sidebar, so if you are planning a banner for a particular event, we would advise booking ahead.
What is the specification for the sidebar banners?
Banners should be supplied as a .jpg or .png file sized to 300x150px and are subject to approval. We also offer a banner design service, available on request.
Where does the money go?
Adventure Medic is not-for-profit and run entirely by volunteers. All money made goes back into the website. We host a small amount of advertising to pay for the upkeep of the site and to produce publicity materials.
